I have some experience with the military. I really think the Army s the worst about the narcisssism. Part of it is the whole top-down mentality that treats everyone like "cannon fodder", so that causes some to overcompensate. Part of it is that the Army rewards narcissism without truly giving the full & proper training soldierst need. The Army also does not promote technical knowledge as some other branches do, where you would rise because of what you truly do know. And, overall, most of the branches (the Army & Marines most specifically, followed by the Navy), do not really value self-reflection & considering the possibility that "you might be wrong." If a person shows those traits, they're likely to be devalued and/or accused of having poor self-esteem.

Finally, the church is another breeding ground for narcissism. That's a whole other story!

Well, we are being transformed into a psychopathic society through pop culture, music, movies, video games, reality-TV, cults and by the increasing levels of corruption among our leaders in every sphere, percolating down drawing people into this miasma of narcissism which is the root of evil.

What a great post! It's shocking how many more young adults have narcissism. It used to be that people were constantly putting themselves down- and now we have a society that doesn't stop focusing on themselves. Another great article on
