Britney Spears is admitting to being a devil-worshiping Satan fanatic who embraces a “new world order” … at least according to her Twitter page.

Turns out her Twitter account was hacked by a cyber-demonic force this morning … and we’re not talking about Sam Lutfi. Along with giving “Glory to Satan,” the background to her page has gone from images of her “3″ video … to pyramids inscribed with the name of the alleged secret society Illuminati.

A COALITION of musicians including Pearl Jam and REM. has backed a formal demand to be told if their songs have been used to torture detainees in Guantanamo Bay and Iraq.

Many former prisoners have claimed they were blasted with excruciatingly loud music for months on end – a tactic banned under the UN Convention Against Torture but not yet from the US Army Field Manual.

The musicians spoke out yesterday as a Freedom of Information request was lodged by the US campaign group No More Guantanamos, a legal move backed by the British human rights group Reprieve, which has been campaigning against “music torture” for more than a year.

According to evidence gained by human rights organisations, the list of music used included songs ranging from death metal band Deicide’s F..k Your God, Sesame Street tunes, and the song most frequently blasted at inmates, I Love You by the children’s TV character Barney the Purple Dinosaur.

Former detainees have said the tactic was one of the worst and most painful used against them. The National Security Archive, a freedom of information organisation helping the musicians, said the playlist also featured cuts from AC/DC, Britney Spears, the Bee Gees, and Marilyn Manson.

Archive executive director Thomas Blanton said: “At Guantanamo the US government turned a jukebox into an instrument of torture. The musicians and the public have the right to know how an expression of popular culture was transformed into an interrogation technique.”

Tom Morello, guitarist with the band Rage Against the Machine – whose song Killing in the Name of was also used – said: “The fact that music I helped create was used as a tactic against humanity sickens me.”

The musicians’ campaign comes as the Obama administration has been forced to concede that the President’s pledge to shut Guantanamo by January will fail. His bold promise to close the prison within a year of coming to office has run into myriad political and logistical problems, including fierce opposition at home to the transportation of detainees to US prisons and a reluctance by Western allies to receive many of the remaining inmates. Congress is refusing to fund the closure of the facility, which still holds about 220 prisoners.

After the September 11 attacks and the war on terror it appears the use of loud music first became common inside Abu Ghraib prison near Baghdad, scene of the infamous inmate abuse photographs.

Haj Ali, the hooded man in one of the most notorious pictures, told of being stripped and forced to listen to a looped version of David Gray’s Babylon at a volume so loud that he said he thought his head “would explode”. Metallica’s Enter Sandman was often used in Guantanamo Bay, while Queen’s We Are the Champions was a favourite among US guards at Camp Cropper in Iraq. One Iraqi talked of being taken to an unidentified location and blasted with music in a building referred to as “the disco”.

In one case interrogators allegedly played music to “stress” Mohamedou Ould Slahi, a citizen of Mauritania, who has been at Guantanamo for more than seven years, because he believed music was forbidden.

Slahi said he was questioned over a 10-day period in July 2003 by an interrogator called “Mr X” while being “exposed to variable lighting patterns” and repeated playing of a song called Let the Bodies Hit the Floor by the band Drowning Pool.

In the official picture for the “Russian Roulette” single, Rihanna is not only wrapped in barbed wire naked, but she is also wearing an open eye-patch over her one eye that happens to be the alleged Illuminati Freemason Eye of Horus symbol she loves to show off.

WASHINGTON — Rock star Bono on Sunday praised Barack Obama for helping “re-brand” the United States as a leading force in combating the world’s most pressing problems, and deemed the president’s controversial Nobel Peace prize deserved.

In an article Sunday in The New York Times, the U2 rocker and rights activist praised Obama’s dedication to “the eradication of extreme poverty in our time,” as well as Obama’s commitment to “fighting nuclear proliferation and climate change, improving relations in the Middle East and, by the way, creating jobs and providing health care at home.”

And the world-famous singer said the US president is the central figure in the “re-branding” of the American image to one of hope, optimism and action.

“I will venture to say that in the farthest corners of the globe, the president’s words are more than a pop song people want to hear on the radio. They are lifelines,” he said.

“The world sees that America might just hold the keys to solving the three greatest threats we face on this planet: extreme poverty, extreme ideology and extreme climate change.

“The world senses that America, with renewed global support, might be better placed to defeat this axis of extremism with a new model of foreign policy,” he wrote.

On the issue of the Nobel Peace Prize, which critics decried as undeserved or premature, the Irish rocker offered a different view.

“The president said that he considered the peace prize a call to action. And in the fight against extreme poverty, it’s action, not intentions, that counts,” wrote the singer, who has campaigned to get wealthy nations to step up donations to a global fund to fight AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria.

“The Nobel Peace Prize is the rest of the world saying, ‘Don’t blow it’.”

He also praised the president’s top advisors from Vice President Joe Biden to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to National Security Advisor James Jones as a “dream team” and underscored European dumbfoundedness that the US president is not more greatly appreciated by his own countrymen.

“There’s a sense in some quarters of these not-so-United States that Norway, Europe and the world haven’t a clue about the real President Obama — instead, they fixate on a fantasy version of the president, a projection of what they hope and wish he is, and what they wish America to be,” Bono wrote.

“I think the man might deserve the hype,” he said.

When Bono met Pope John Paul II in 2005 he hailed him as the “best frontman the Roman Catholic Church ever had”.

So when his successor Pope Benedict XVI meets the U2 frontman in the coming weeks it will be interesting to see who ends up singing whose praises.

The pontiff has invited the Irish rock star to meet him in the Vatican, to revive the relationship between faith and art.

The singer will join more than 500 personalities from the worlds of art, theatre, literature and music who have been asked to gather with the pope in the Sistine Chapel on November 21.

Following the iconic moment when he placed his famous ‘Fly’ shades on the previous Holy |Father, it remains to be seen how the current pontiff will top his predecessor’s bond with the multi-millionaire Irish rocker. The guest list for this meeting of minds reads like a who’s who of the arts world and includes names such as Italian film score composer Ennio Morricone, avant-garde theatre director Bob Wilson and architect Daniel Libeskind, who is currently building developer Harry Crosbie’s theatre on Hanover Quay.

Archbishop Gianfranco Ravasi, president of the Pontifical Council for Culture said that the artists were selected on the basis of their reputation and awards they had received.

The archbishop also explained the meeting was to be the first of many initiatives aimed at bridging the gap that has developed between spirituality and artistic expression over the last century.

In the essay, Paul pays tribute to “our lovely young Queen”.
He wrote the 300-word piece while studying at Joseph Williams Junior School in Belle Vale, Liverpool.

It is believed to be earliest piece of his work in existence, and was given to the local library.

Kevin Roache, who found the work in library archives and is writing about the McCartney family, said: “I’m not surprised that it was pro-royalist, bearing in mind attitudes of the time and because his father, James, was a royalist.”

In the essay, Paul compares Queen Elizabeth’s coronation with that of William the Conqueror, who became king in 1066.

Calling the event a “marvellous spectacle”, Paul, now 66, explains London children were awarded free seats to watch.

It was just a big black box, really. With a sad-looking antennae to hang on the roof and some soldier’s laptop plugged into the side.

On the barracks rooftop it seemed like poor weaponry, throwing out feeble FM frequencies in the hail and thud of Sadr City sniper fire, mortars and bombs.

But on the streets of that immense Baghdad slum, where Army Sgt. Alan Coffman often went door-to-door in the sand-strewn streets with a helmet, gun and translator, it sometimes seemed like one of the best things going.

It wasn’t quite Radio Free Europe, but then again no one had instructed Coffman and the rest of his team on just how to start it up. It had been a serendipitous thing – a few pieces of equipment brought in, then someone’s suggestion: We should make this a radio station.

And so what was born became, in Coffman’s estimation, perhaps the only FM music station broadcasting in a sprawling Shiite slum in suburban Baghdad that is home to more than 1 million people.

The “radio in a box,” as they called it, had an eight-mile range, a playlist of Iraqi pop garnered from local CDs and – inserted between songs – pro-American messages translated into Arabic.

It was all part of the job for Coffman and his team. He was a psychological operations guy.

Today, in the air-conditioned office of Boca Raton public relations firm TransMedia Group, where the 28-year-old sergeant is an intern, the memories of that hellish stretch in Sadr City are less than a year old but seem ages away.

Tall, broad-shouldered and soft-spoken, he’s a Palm Beach Community College student now, recently married. He’s exploring whether he wants a career in public relations or marketing.

Apart from the bombing and death, he says it wouldn’t be such a long journey from where he’s been.

“The assignment,” he said of his stint in Iraq, “essentially turned out to be like public relations at many different levels.”

Not that he knew that starting out. The Deerfield Beach native, who worked as a cop in Hillsboro Beach and moved to Virginia Beach to care for his sick mother, enlisted as an Army reservist five years ago in search of a next step forward.

He found a place in psychological ops, or “psy ops” for short, because it sounded unique – the sort of thing he thought he would never be able to do in the United States.

The Army uses psychological operations to “send truthful information to foreign audiences in order to convince them to take action favorable to the U.S. and its allies,” an Army spokesman said.

Radio operations are a popular option but just one of many, said the spokesman, Lt. David Chace of the U.S. Civil Affairs and Psychological Operations Command (Airborne).

“They use everything from billboards to dropping pamphlets from helicopters,” Chace said.

When he was deployed to Baghdad’s Sadr City in late 2007, a world of pain awaited.

Coffman fought street battles, rode air guard in combat vehicles. He took on heavy enemy fire, and watched a good friend die atop a Stryker vehicle standing in on Coffman’s own shift.

He survived so many roadside explosions and fired so many rounds that his left ear became nearly useless. He uses a hearing aid now.

One day, three hours after he left the old police barracks where he and his team lived, the building was bombed, leaving an enormous crater where his cot had been. They had to move their quarters – and the radio station.

Working in an imbedded psy ops company, he said his job was “basically convincing people to do what we wanted them to do at the time.”

In the interest of getting out the U.S. government’s message, he produced pamphlets and fliers. With the help of translators, he tried to encourage Iraqis to turn in roadside bombers and avoid certain roads. To boil their water after a cholera outbreak. To use the government’s anonymous tips line.

He went door-to-door in the Iraqi slums. The idea was to garner intelligence from locals. But it was also to answer questions and represent his country. To try to put people at ease.

“You’d get to walk into a house, take your helmet off, put your weapon down,” he said. “Speaking with someone is a little better than speaking at them.”

In April, not long after his friend was killed, his team started the radio station. A captain had brought the gear in from a larger base along with vague orders to transmit pro-American messages to the populace.

The team decided that would not do. Who would listen? They said they would start a proper station. Or the closest thing.

Coffman was told most Baghdad stations ran talk radio all day. They didn’t like the sound of that. They decided theirs would feature music.

Coffman sent an Iraqi translator to buy a stack of local CD’s. He monitored MTV Arabia to get clued in on new sounds.

He had public service announcements translated and placed in between songs on their playlists. They organized their programming with iTunes.

At first, they hid the fact that it was a U.S.-operated station. Later they advertised it.

On the streets he quizzed Iraqis about the music. Old men didn’t care for the modern-styled pop. Younger Iraqis often liked it. Many didn’t listen at all.

“We wanted to make it as much like an Iraqi station as possible,” he said.

He admits it probably never would have won awards. But for a good half-year at least (he doesn’t know if it still operates) it was one of the team’s best, and most creative, arms extended toward the skeptical Iraqis.

These days, Coffman wears collared shirts to work and says his time in psy ops gave him a taste, he thinks, for public relations.

Living in Boca Raton with his new wife, who teaches high school in Boynton Beach, he’s become nearly a full-time student, with monthly reservist duties back in Virginia Beach.

He credits his year in Baghdad with a vast expansion of his mind and world view. Joy and pain and hell all together, some strange mix he hasn’t quite untangled.

“It doesn’t look like fun at the time,” he said. “It’s not until later that you realize what you’ve been through.”

LOS ANGELES (AP) — The Los Angeles County coroner says Michael Jackson’s death was a homicide primarily caused by two drugs.

In a statement released Friday, the coroner said the cause of death was acute intoxication from the anesthetic propofol. Other sedatives contributed to the death, most notably lorazepam.

The coroner did not release Jackson’s full autopsy report, citing an ongoing security hold at the request of Los Angeles authorities.

Dr. Conrad Murray, the pop star’s personal physician, told police he gave Jackson propofol the morning of June 25 after a series of sedatives failed to help Jackson sleep. Murray is the target of what police term a manslaughter investigation.

The 50-year-old Jackson died June 25 in Los Angeles.

A search warrant affidavit unsealed Monday in Houston includes a detailed account of what Murray told investigators.

According to the document, Murray said he’d been treating Jackson for insomnia for about six weeks with 50 milligrams of propofol every night via an intravenous drip. But he said he feared Jackson was forming an addiction to the anesthetic, which is normally used in hospitals only, and was attempting to wean his patient by lowering the dose to 25 milligrams and adding the sedatives lorazepam and midazolam.

That combination succeeded in helping Jackson sleep two days prior to his death, so the next day, Murray told detectives he cut off the propofol — and Jackson fell asleep with just the two sedatives.

Then around 1:30 a.m. on June 25, starting with a 10-milligram tab of Valium, Murray said he tried a series of drugs instead of propofol to make Jackson sleep. The injections included two milligrams of lorazepam around 2 a.m., two milligrams of midazolam around 3 a.m., and repeats of each at 5 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. respectively.

But they didn’t work.

Murray told detectives that around 10:40 a.m. he gave in to Jackson’s “repeated demands/requests” for propofol, which the singer referred to as his “milk.” He administered 25 milligrams of the white-colored liquid, — a relatively small dose — and finally, Jackson fell asleep.

Murray remained with the sedated Jackson for about 10 minutes, then left for the bathroom. No more than two minutes later, he returned — and found Jackson had stopped breathing.

“There’s no surprise there” that death could result from such a combination, said Dr. David Zvara, anesthesia chairman at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

“All those drugs act in synergy with each other,” Zvara said. Adding propofol on top of all the other sedatives “tipped the balance.”

Michael Jackson fans are flocking to a Chicago museum to see a 3,000 year old Egyptian model which looks remarkably like the late king of pop.

Staff have been rushed off their feet since Jackson’s death as thousands of mourners visit the exhibition to pay tribute to the star.

The limestone statue has gaunt cheeks and – most strikingly – a tipless nose.

It is on display at the Inside Ancient Egypt exhibition at The Field Museum in the United States.

The bust was bought in Cairo in 1889 and has been on display at the museum for 21 years.

But its popularity has soared since Michael Jackson’s death after fans started writing about the ancient statue on internet blogs.

The bust was carved during the New Kingdom Period, which ran between 1550 BC to 1050 BC.

This was around the same time as famous Egyptians Ramesses and King Tut.

The museum’s 4,500 daily visitors are banned from touching or kissing the statue, which is protected behind a glass screen.

Astonished fans stand admiring the statue and discussing its likeness with others who have travelled to see it.

Darnell Williams, the director of guest relations, said some fans were treating a visit to the museum like a pilgrimage.

He said: “The statue has been here for years but interest has been boosted since Michael Jackson’s death.

“People are coming from all over the country to see the statue and compare its likeness to the king of pop.

“Many see it as a pilgrimage and as a way to pay tribute to his achievements. He had such a large influence on pop culture.

“Some fans are so desperate to see the model they are asking staff how to get to the Egypt exhibition before they have even bought their ticket.

“They want to touch and kiss the model like it is some sort of God but it is behind a screen to protect it from damage.

“Once people see it they are astounded and can’t stop talking about its likeness. It really is remarkable.”

James Phillips, curator of near east and north african exhibits, said little was known about the origins of the model.

He said: “The likeness is astonishing but I think it is probably a coincidence.

“We do not believe Michael Jackson ever visited the museum or saw the exhibit and there is therefore little chance he based his image on it.

“We believe the model is missing a nose because early Christians or Muslims removed noses from paintings and models to make them non-human.

“This was because it was against their religion to depict human beings.

“In this case it has the effect of making it look more like Michael Jackson.

“The model was carved during the New Kingdom Period but we do not know who it is or why it was made because there are no hieroglyphics on it.”

The music video for Jackson’s 1993 hit “Remember the Time” was set in Egypt and starred Eddie Murphy.

At the time of the video Jackson looked almost identical to the statue.

The model, simply called ‘limestone statue of a woman’, measures 25 cm high by 35 cm wide.
