Russian Professor Predicts End of U.S.

By ANDREW OSBORN

MOSCOW — For a decade, Russian academic Igor Panarin has been predicting the U.S. will fall apart in 2010. For most of that time, he admits, few took his argument — that an economic and moral collapse will trigger a civil war and the eventual breakup of the U.S. — very seriously. Now he’s found an eager audience: Russian state media.

In recent weeks, he’s been interviewed as much as twice a day about his predictions. “It’s a record,” says Prof. Panarin. “But I think the attention is going to grow even stronger.”

Prof. Panarin, 50 years old, is not a fringe figure. A former KGB analyst, he is dean of the Russian Foreign Ministry’s academy for future diplomats. He is invited to Kremlin receptions, lectures students, publishes books, and appears in the media as an expert on U.S.-Russia relations.

But it’s his bleak forecast for the U.S. that is music to the ears of the Kremlin, which in recent years has blamed Washington for everything from instability in the Middle East to the global financial crisis. Mr. Panarin’s views also fit neatly with the Kremlin’s narrative that Russia is returning to its rightful place on the world stage after the weakness of the 1990s, when many feared that the country would go economically and politically bankrupt and break into separate territories.

A polite and cheerful man with a buzz cut, Mr. Panarin insists he does not dislike Americans. But he warns that the outlook for them is dire.

“There’s a 55-45% chance right now that disintegration will occur,” he says. “One could rejoice in that process,” he adds, poker-faced. “But if we’re talking reasonably, it’s not the best scenario — for Russia.” Though Russia would become more powerful on the global stage, he says, its economy would suffer because it currently depends heavily on the dollar and on trade with the U.S.

Mr. Panarin posits, in brief, that mass immigration, economic decline, and moral degradation will trigger a civil war next fall and the collapse of the dollar. Around the end of June 2010, or early July, he says, the U.S. will break into six pieces — with Alaska reverting to Russian control.

In addition to increasing coverage in state media, which are tightly controlled by the Kremlin, Mr. Panarin’s ideas are now being widely discussed among local experts. He presented his theory at a recent roundtable discussion at the Foreign Ministry. The country’s top international relations school has hosted him as a keynote speaker. During an appearance on the state TV channel Rossiya, the station cut between his comments and TV footage of lines at soup kitchens and crowds of homeless people in the U.S. The professor has also been featured on the Kremlin’s English-language propaganda channel, Russia Today.

Mr. Panarin’s apocalyptic vision “reflects a very pronounced degree of anti-Americanism in Russia today,” says Vladimir Pozner, a prominent TV journalist in Russia. “It’s much stronger than it was in the Soviet Union.”

Mr. Pozner and other Russian commentators and experts on the U.S. dismiss Mr. Panarin’s predictions. “Crazy ideas are not usually discussed by serious people,” says Sergei Rogov, director of the government-run Institute for U.S. and Canadian Studies, who thinks Mr. Panarin’s theories don’t hold water.

Mr. Panarin’s résumé includes many years in the Soviet KGB, an experience shared by other top Russian officials. His office, in downtown Moscow, shows his national pride, with pennants on the wall bearing the emblem of the FSB, the KGB’s successor agency. It is also full of statuettes of eagles; a double-headed eagle was the symbol of czarist Russia.

The professor says he began his career in the KGB in 1976. In post-Soviet Russia, he got a doctorate in political science, studied U.S. economics, and worked for FAPSI, then the Russian equivalent of the U.S. National Security Agency. He says he did strategy forecasts for then-President Boris Yeltsin, adding that the details are “classified.”

In September 1998, he attended a conference in Linz, Austria, devoted to information warfare, the use of data to get an edge over a rival. It was there, in front of 400 fellow delegates, that he first presented his theory about the collapse of the U.S. in 2010.

“When I pushed the button on my computer and the map of the United States disintegrated, hundreds of people cried out in surprise,” he remembers. He says most in the audience were skeptical. “They didn’t believe me.”

At the end of the presentation, he says many delegates asked him to autograph copies of the map showing a dismembered U.S.

He based the forecast on classified data supplied to him by FAPSI analysts, he says. He predicts that economic, financial and demographic trends will provoke a political and social crisis in the U.S. When the going gets tough, he says, wealthier states will withhold funds from the federal government and effectively secede from the union. Social unrest up to and including a civil war will follow. The U.S. will then split along ethnic lines, and foreign powers will move in.

California will form the nucleus of what he calls “The Californian Republic,” and will be part of China or under Chinese influence. Texas will be the heart of “The Texas Republic,” a cluster of states that will go to Mexico or fall under Mexican influence. Washington, D.C., and New York will be part of an “Atlantic America” that may join the European Union. Canada will grab a group of Northern states Prof. Panarin calls “The Central North American Republic.” Hawaii, he suggests, will be a protectorate of Japan or China, and Alaska will be subsumed into Russia.

“It would be reasonable for Russia to lay claim to Alaska; it was part of the Russian Empire for a long time.” A framed satellite image of the Bering Strait that separates Alaska from Russia like a thread hangs from his office wall. “It’s not there for no reason,” he says with a sly grin.

Interest in his forecast revived this fall when he published an article in Izvestia, one of Russia’s biggest national dailies. In it, he reiterated his theory, called U.S. foreign debt “a pyramid scheme,” and predicted China and Russia would usurp Washington’s role as a global financial regulator.

Americans hope President-elect Barack Obama “can work miracles,” he wrote. “But when spring comes, it will be clear that there are no miracles.”

The article prompted a question about the White House’s reaction to Prof. Panarin’s forecast at a December news conference. “I’ll have to decline to comment,” spokeswoman Dana Perino said amid much laughter.

For Prof. Panarin, Ms. Perino’s response was significant. “The way the answer was phrased was an indication that my views are being listened to very carefully,” he says.

The professor says he’s convinced that people are taking his theory more seriously. People like him have forecast similar cataclysms before, he says, and been right. He cites French political scientist Emmanuel Todd. Mr. Todd is famous for having rightly forecast the demise of the Soviet Union — 15 years beforehand. “When he forecast the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1976, people laughed at him,” says Prof. Panarin.

  1. This is all Scary stuff. But remembering history and the Civil War in 1860 it is illegal for any state in the United States to secede from the country. It appears to me as the “ex-National Security agent” is implying that the Russian country is either going to provoke domestic violence in the U.S. as well as threaten the Country from abroad. Causing turmoil and skepticism and doubt in the power of the United States.
I’m not saying I’m not open minded but the idea is ludicrous. The country although right now in peril, still has the idea of freedom and equality. Why would the states go to other countries that oppress this ideology is madness.

  2. Victor,

Let me try to break it all down for you. I know it is hard for most people to understand, but here goes:

First off, it is not illegal to secede. Because the States acceded to the American Union, they also have a constitutional right to secede from it individually. It is just that there is a requirement for congress to approve it. If not, and the State secedes anyway, THEN we get into the “illegality” of it. Regardless though, from a purely moral standpoint, any people, anywhere in the world, who desire to be free and independent have the right to establish their own sovereign nation. No one, especially Americans can argue against that idea without being hypocritical.

Secondly, there are now at least six States in the American Union that have strong secession movements and are very serious about it. Similar movements exist in Canada.

Third, by the end of 2010, the CFR plans to have a North American Union established along with an Amero “solution” to replace the deliberately devalued Dolllar, which will destroy any remaining (just a few left) constitutional rights of Americans or the States which will become mere sectors of a superstate like the EU. Americans have already lost most of their sovereignty over to international treaties and trade agreements, US taxpayers cannot afford to foot the bill of the bailout scam and the perpetual war is destroying our national security and our economy. Also, by that time, we will be paying heavy global taxes and even getting taxed for the privilege of existing on this planet. If we live that long through all the biological warfare and pandemics that the elite love to keep talking about.

In addition, many Americans are sorely aware that voting in rigged elections does nothing but dig us in deeper and that “reforms” are a joke in such an absolutely corrupt regime as Washington DC. We as a people are however dumbed down and degenerate. Most people are totally ignorant of what is happening to them. This is by design. The national monopoly media are nothing more than propaganda arms of the elite. And this elite that controls America is corrupt, diabolical and murderous. Putting one’s faith in them is insane and suicidal. Therefore, secession is going to be the only option for opting out of the New World Order mess to get us to a place where each state is in control of its own destiny and in which the people actually control their own government rather than the other way around.

However, the Russians know (as do the CFR elites, the Ford Foundation, Skull and Bones etc who funded the Soviets into existence) that it is one of the goals of the elite to “comfortably merge” the American Union with the Soviet Union (Google Norman Dodd, Director of the United States House of Representatives Reece Committee). This being one among many stepping stones to totalitarian global government. Therefore, of course, it might be useful for them to divide and conquer us before setting up this globalist unification, along the regional lines suggested above.

The United States is going straight down the toilette no matter what anyone says and voting in federal elections is never going to get us out of this mess. That is an inescapable fact that the faint of heart are not prepared to accept, and that the corrupt will just joke about and lie about. One way or another, the elite want to reorganize the North American landscape completely, so whether we act against it or not, big shocking changes are coming in the next few years.

Therefore, the way I see is this: the States must consciously secede knowing full well it is a dangerous move. This against a movement to completely reorder and globalize the North American continent. In order to avoid being set up into globalist regions, states have to move to defend their own sovereignty no matter what that takes because the US government is not defending them and the rest of the world does have their eyes on us. It is about walking a razors edge between the NAU on one side and an increasingly corrupt US government on the other side while avoiding being caught up in the Russian vision of regionalized territories of China, Russia, the EU etc. If we stick with the US government, keep recognizing it as our own (which it isn’t!), then we will end up in the NAU which will be the end of America as we know it anyway.

So that’s it, there is no choice but to secede while avoiding the perils of both the NAU and this Russian regionalization model. The question you have to ask yourself is, do we want to secede and reclaim our sovereignty, being willing to defend it militarily if need be, or do we want to just sit here like deer in the headlights as the globalists carve us up into regions suitable to their global government plan?

Interesting prediction. I’ve found myself thinking something similar for the last few months. Not exactly, I’m anticipating the US being under Russian financial control in 2010. However, I don’t agree with the professor’s map quite. I believe states like South Carolina, North Carolina, and Tennessee will be in this “Texas Republic,” (which I disagree with the name and political power as well.) I seriously doubt South Carolinians will agree with Rhode Islanders and will go with fellow southeners.
That said, I do agree that regardless of the state of the US, there will be big changes in the next few years.

  4. It is important to distinguish between “predictions” (such as of the weather), and plans, such as PNAC and SPP.

We already know they want a North American Union. How that is engineered is up to some speculation, but it would not surprise me if they engineered this type of regionalization in order to divide and conquer. (You will notice that the EU is administered by regions.) My point is that no matter what anyone says or does, the US is going to disintegrate. HOW it disintegrates is up to the people. If we just sit here like deer in the headlights, then it will be molded and fashioned by the global elite just as they have done in other parts of the world. But I believe then that this offers us only one way out and that is conscious secession followed by vigorous defense of sovereignty against globalist regionalization, foreign takeover and the NAU. That means people have to be ready for anything including invasion by hostile forces. We have no choice but to think in these terms today.

message for pjwalker911 I find your speculations on point. There is always room for that especially when there are govt. documents to prove it. I am one of the few, who has known for quite sometime that the U.S. was systematically being destroyed by our treasonous politicians, heads of state and just about everyone who resides in D.C. But anyone who has done any reasonable amount of research knows that there is a very sinister and wicked force that is working behind the scene to destroy this country. It has been planned for years. I do agree with you that we are going under completely, also as a christian I would advise anyone to go and visit http://www.thelightgate.com for more details and investigations on this subject. There have been many prophecies as well against this nation. There is a huge delusion cast over the average american and it permeates our schools and universities. Every war we have had we were forced into, they were simply false flag operations. You can trace the fradulent paperwood back to the ones who print it with their masonic symbologies designed all over. Their treasonous plans are written in their documents. That is not all we are facing either, we are moving into a fourth reich and according to bible prophecy it is going to be luciferian to the core. Everything that this nation has done to other nations is going to returned double unto us. We have the current escalating crisis in the middle east and if Jerusalem is divided the evidence is that JWH is going to divide the U.S. at the New Madrid Fault lines, just watch 10.5 and 10.5 The Apocalypse the movies were taken from actual maps showing the U.S. being broken by earthquakes. I suspect that is why there is so much activities of earthquake tremors at Yellowstone. I believe these are precursors of course. I would also like to state that during Bush’s term they have put a muzzle on the scientist and purposely are hiding info. Please visit http://www.standeyo.com for that information. There are many other things that are in store for too numerous to mention. But bible prophecy do support the claims as being true. I stand on the fact that the holy bible is 100% accurate, if studied and viewed correctly in it’s true light.

  6. michiel johnson,

We are in agreement up to the middle of your comment where you start in on the Bible. As I am not one to believe in any religion, including Christianity, I take issue with the idea that the NWO is “inevitable”, written in stone, irreversible “prophecy”. As you already admit, all this NWO stuff was planned a long way back. As we start looking into the histories of the secret societies and astrotheological mystery religions, we start to see a much bigger picture, spanning not only hundreds, but thousands of years. We also find that even today, new religions are literally being engineered as they always have been. We find that there are 100 and even 1000 year plans for humanity. The elite have always believed they had the “right to rule” and therefore to plan out the future according to their own designs. What holds them together are these plans and each new generation of the elite takes over, the torch is passed along to their descendants. That is why they find it so imperative to maintain careful in-breeding and eugenics is a central theme of theirs. This is to guide human “evolution” along a path of ultimate power to control nature (including the weather and tectonics) and humanity itself. In this process, they have engineered religions to keep the general public in the dark, totally ignorant of what is happening. What people need to start doing is distinguishing between “prophecies” and plans. The elite have always known where it was all going. They had certain writers all down through history making “predictions and prophecies” about the amazing things of the future including technologies, wars and geopolitical upheavals. Keep in mind that every one of these were planned out long in advance and introduced along a predetermined plot line as though they were directors of a grand drama. It isn’t so hard to do when you have an army top intellects, sworn to obedience by blood oaths drawing up blueprints and carrying them out, in strictest secrecy. Think about it.
